Welcome Ashtin Brantley, GSRP Lead Teacher

My name is Ashtin Brantley, and I am so excited to be the new preschool teacher at Vestaburg Schools. I grew up in the community and attended Vestaburg Community Schools for all of my primary and secondary education. I went on to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education and fell in love with teaching young children and learning about child development.

I have a loving husband, Ryan -who also attended Vestaburg High School. Together, we have three adorable children, Annelise, Jayne, and Waylon, and reside on a farm just north of town. In our spare time, we enjoy spending time at home with friends and family. We also enjoy vacationing on Mackinac Island, going to the lake, and traveling to the U.P.

While taking a short break from working in education, I realized that that is where my heart and passion is and has always been. I’ve decided to continue my education at Central Michigan University, and I am thrilled to be back in the classroom. I cannot wait to see what this coming year brings! Vestaburg has always been home to me, and I can’t wait to make a positive difference in the community. Go Wolverines!

*Hello Elementary Family,**

My name is Scotlin Clements, and I am thrilled to join you as the new Student Success Advocate. I am happily married and the proud parent of three wonderful children: my stepdaughter Aubrie, my stepson Brayden, and my daughter Annalee.

I bring with me a unique background, having spent five years working in the juvenile detention system. This experience inspired me to transition into the school system, where I believe I can make a significant impact by helping students avoid the challenges that can lead to involvement with the juvenile justice system.

For three years, I served as the Student Advocate at Houghton Lake Middle School. Now, I am excited to return to my roots and continue my passion for supporting students in their educational journey. Additionally, I have been trained in and will be utilizing the restorative approach, which focuses on building positive relationships and creating a supportive community for our students.

I look forward to collaborating with all of you to make the classroom environment more supportive and conducive to success for every student. Together, we can make a difference.

Best regards,

Scotlin Clements

Vestaburg Community Schools is excited to offer FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH to all enrolled students again this school year thanks to the Michigan Healthy School Meals Program! Even though meals will be provided for free, it is important for families to continue sharing household income information on the Education Benefit Form in order for our schools to receive full access to federal and state funding for educational programs that our students are entitled to. If you have not filled out the Education Benefit Form please stop by one of our offices and get that done today.

Hello everyone! My name is Lesley Garvey and I am thrilled to be starting as a 3rd grade teacher here at Vestaburg.  I currently reside with my two (high school aged, 10th and 12th grade) kids in Greenville, Michigan where I was born and raised. I graduated from Greenville High School then attended Central Michigan University for a short time to complete some classes for general studies.  After having my children, I attended Academy of Art University where I obtained an associate's degree and started my own photography business, Pink Boots Photography.  I also started working for Greenville Public Schools as a paraprofessional, substitute teacher, and associate teacher.  This was when I fell in love with working at the school and working with students.  I knew then I wanted to become a teacher.  During this time I completed my CDA (Child Development Associate) and began to pursue my journey of obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Education degree.  I completed my degree with Grand Canyon University this past May.  This past summer I worked as a 5th grade summer school teacher at Greenville Public Schools and now I’m here at Vestaburg.
In my spare time, I enjoy photography, reading, and spending time with my family whether it'd be watching my kids play sports, going on trips, playing games, or having a movie night with pizza.  *Picture below with my family ~ Me, Drew, Isabelle, and my guy~Steven.
