Dear Vestaburg Elementary School Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to you today regarding a sensitive matter that may have recently come to your attention. You may become aware of news reports concerning alleged embezzlement charges involving a former member of the Vestaburg Elementary School PTO.

We want to assure you that the school district is aware of these charges and is cooperating fully with the authorities in their ongoing investigation. As this is an active legal matter and investigation, we are limited in the specific details we can share at this time, including information regarding the alleged amount or the direct impact on the PTO.

It is important to note that the PTO, while a valued partner, is a separate legal entity with their own bank accounts separate from the school district. We have no oversight of the PTO accounts. However, their dedication and efforts are crucial in supporting many of the programs and activities that enrich our students' educational experience. The district is committed to working closely with the PTO Board to ensure the continued success of the PTO and to safeguard its funds and operations moving forward. We also want to acknowledge and commend the diligence of the PTO members and leadership for promptly addressing this issue and for their commitment to evaluating and strengthening all processes and procedures.

Our priority remains the well-being and education of our students. We are confident that the PTO will continue to be a vital force for good in our school, and we encourage your continued support for their important work.

We understand you may have questions, and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate this situation. We will share further information as it becomes appropriate and permissible to share.

Sincerely,

Brandon Hubbard

Superintendent
